Authorities have frozen assets worth almost €200,000 belonging to a 34-year-old man already facing serious drug charges, following a deepening financial probe into his activities.
The move comes as part of an ongoing investigation led by the Drug Law Enforcement Unit (YKAN), working alongside the Unit for Combating Money Laundering (MOKAS). Acting on a court order, investigators seized two vehicles valued at around €68,000, cash totaling €126,585, and company shares, as they attempt to trace profits allegedly linked to drug trafficking.
The suspect was first arrested in Limassol in November 2024 during a large-scale YKAN operation that uncovered a massive haul of narcotics. Police seized more than five and a half kilos of cocaine and nearly 13 kilos of cannabis. Two additional suspects were also taken into custody during the operation.
While the criminal case is still before the courts, authorities say the financial investigation is far from over. Once the trial concludes, prosecutors are expected to push for full confiscation of the frozen assets, and potentially more, depending on what further evidence emerges.
Investigators stress that the case remains active, with financial and criminal inquiries continuing in parallel.
