Occupied territories grant new 'citizenships' in 2024

The "government" announced today that an additional 133 individuals were granted "citizenship," bringing the total number of citizens to 4,431 for the period from January 1 to December 28, 2024.

Meanwhile, according to reports in the Turkish Cypriot press, the "Council of Ministers" imposed entry bans on three individuals accused of fraudulent activities, including using banking or credit institutions as means of fraud.

Specifically, Bahtyyar Karyagdyyev and his wife, Jennet Musayeva, were convicted of inviting citizens of Turkmenistan to the occupied territories under false pretenses for personal exploitation. As a result, they were declared "prohibited immigrants" under the existing "law."

Additionally, Bülent Liçis was declared a "prohibited immigrant" due to allegations of fraudulent activity, with the relevant courts issuing warrants for his crimes.

In total, 31 individuals were expelled from the occupied territories in 2024 for their involvement in various crimes. These individuals were handed over to the relevant Turkish authorities. The list of expelled individuals includes 22 Turkish citizens, six persons wanted under international arrest warrants, and three citizens of Iran, Russia, and Estonia.
