Newsroom

In a significant effort to combat wildlife crimes, Cyprus Police and the Game and Fauna Service carried out coordinated raids today targeting poaching activities.

The operation, conducted across the Morphou district and Limassol province, involved searches of residences, business premises, and vehicles. Authorities seized a variety of wildlife, including freshly killed and frozen hares, francolins, ducks, and numerous other wild birds, as well as one live hare.

Investigators also recovered a wild boar head, approximately 29 kilograms of frozen meat, a hunting spear, and several items suspected to be linked to illegal hunting. Six hunting firearms and multiple cartridges were confiscated during the operation.

All materials collected are being preserved as evidence while investigations continue, with police working closely alongside the Game and Fauna Service to identify those responsible.
