Larnaca General Hospital recently unveiled its modernized Accidents & Emergency Department (A&E) on September 18, but recent photos paint a different picture from the official presentation.

A visitor to the hospital’s A&E, en route to the radiology department for tests, passed through an area now being called the "corridor of shame." Images show a walkway cluttered with exposed cables, open ceilings, signs scattered on the floor, and non-functioning lights.

This route, connecting the emergency room to radiology, raises questions about patient safety and the readiness of the newly renovated facility.

Hospital authorities have not yet commented, but it is possible these issues are temporary and linked to ongoing finishing work. Observers hope that the problems will be resolved promptly to ensure the department meets both safety standards and patient expectations.

Our reporting team will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates on any improvements or corrective measures.
