Seven Limassol communities get access to small business grants of up to €50,000

The scheme can cover half the cost of projects such as day care centers and creative workshops. Applications are open until April 5, 2027.

Newsroom

If you’ve been thinking about opening a day care center in Pissouri or expanding a creative workshop in Episkopi, a new grant could cover half the cost. A €250,000 scheme is offering up to €50,000 per project to very small and small businesses in seven Limassol district communities.

The first round covers Akrotiri, Episkopi, Avdimou, Moni, Monagroulli, Pentakomo and Pissouri. Individuals and companies can apply, whether they already run a business in one of those areas or are planning to start one, provided they meet the scheme’s small business criteria.

The grant covers 50% of eligible costs, and applicants must cover the other half. Proposed projects must cost between €5,000 and €100,000, excluding VAT. A project with €20,000 in eligible costs, for example, could receive €10,000 if approved.

Most of the money comes from an EU fund for maritime affairs, fisheries and aquaculture, but the scheme is open to businesses outside the fishing industry. The aim is to help communities get services they need close to home. Nurseries, day care centers, social services, creative workshops and cultural businesses are among the activities that may qualify. The EU fund is contributing €175,000, with the Republic of Cyprus providing the remaining €75,000.

Applications opened Nov. 5 and must be submitted online by April 5, 2027. Applicants will need to provide details about their business and price quotes for proposed expenses. Successful applicants have one year from signing the funding agreement to finish the work and submit the paperwork for payment.

The Limassol District Development Company is running the scheme and can be reached at 25 760 111.
