Police are investigating an unusual incident at a Nicosia high school where a student brought 15,000 euros in cash and distributed it to classmates, authorities said.
The school principal alerted police on October 31, reporting that the event had unfolded a day earlier. According to police sources, the student, a minor, arrived at school with a stash of 50 and 100-euro bills, which he allegedly began handing out to other students.
The student told police the money was given to him by his brother, who also attends the same school. Authorities are working to trace the origin of the cash as part of an ongoing investigation.
