The 4rth mind REset environmental educational programme concluded in an inspiring, dynamic and innovative awards ceremony on Wednesday, February 19 at the Royal Hall in Nicosia. The ceremony marked the culmination of a year full of innovation, inspiration and action, during which students from all over Cyprus had the opportunity to participate in an environmental and educational programme that gave them the tools and knowledge to develop sustainable solutions to reduce plastic and promote a circular economy.

The Lidl Cyprus initiative, with the collaboration of the Non-Profit Organization Junior Achievement Cyprus, the long-term support of the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth of Cyprus and under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, has now become an institution and further strengthens the environmental awareness and entrepreneurial education of young people.
Lidl Cyprus' contribution to the educational environmental programme mind REset, offers hundreds of students the opportunity to experiment with business models, thus developing innovative proposals that could contribute to a more sustainable future.

The participation in this year's edition of the programme was impressive, with more than 100 student groups from 37 schools (19 Primary and 18 Secondary) from all over Cyprus. The over 3500 "green" entrepreneurs, aged 10-14, presented innovative environmentally friendly products and services, winning the admiration of both the public and the specialized jury during the exhibition. It’s worth noting that since the launch of this programme in 2021, over 12,500 Primary and Secondary students from more than 250 schools islandwide have participated.

This year's participants worked on 5 training modules, based on the pillars of the REset Plastic strategy of the Schwarz group, which owns Lidl Cyprus, with an emphasis on reducing plastic waste, recycling and sustainable alternatives.

The highlight of the programme was the awards ceremony, where the 10 finalist teams presented their ideas before a jury and an audience. The jury evaluated the teams based on the innovation and sustainability of the idea, the quality of the presentation and business proposal and the design of their booth and stage presence.

The "mind REsetters 2024-2025" were the Rocking Paints team from the Primary School of Agia Varvara and the NatureSkin Bags team from the Apostolos Andreas Gymnasium of Empas. The winners will have the opportunity to participate in an educational business experience abroad, specifically in Vienna, discovering new practices and broadening their horizons in the field of sustainable development.

The mind REset environmental education programme is one Lidl Cyprus’ many initiatives that aim to shape an environmentally responsible and innovative tomorrow. Reflecting the vision “Less Plastic - Closed Raw Material Cycles”, the company continues to lead on environmental awareness, nurturing the new generation for a sustainable future. Through education, innovation and action, the company plays an important role in shaping ecological awareness and creating practical solutions for a better tomorrow.
