The scenic waterfall at the Monastery of Saint Neophytos in Paphos has reappeared following several days of persistent rainfall, delighting visitors and pilgrims alike. The sudden revival of the waterfall surprised those attending Sunday worship at the historic monastery.
The Monastery of Saint Neophytos, also known as the Engleistra Monastery, was founded by the hermit Saint Neophytos in the late 12th century. The Engleistra is a secluded, rock-carved area where the saint lived in retreat, giving the site both spiritual and historical significance.
Over the years, the waterfall has often been visible after heavy rains, but yesterday’s display was a rare and striking reminder of the natural beauty surrounding this important religious site.
