A rather mild and slightly lazy high-pressure system is hanging around the area, not causing much trouble but still making its presence known.
Today expect mostly clear skies, the kind of weather that looks like it actually read the forecast instructions. Winds will start off confused and indecisive (variable and light), then eventually make up their minds and blow from the southwest to northwest at a gentle 3-4 Beaufort. The sea will be slight to a little rough, meaning it’s in a mildly grumpy mood but nothing dramatic. Temperatures will climb to around 20°C inland and along the coasts, while the higher mountains will stay cool at about 10°C, perfect sweater weather for anyone brave enough to head uphill.
Tonight, clouds will occasionally wander in, as if checking what’s going on below. Winds will shift mainly northwesterly to northeasterly, remaining light at around 3 Beaufort. The sea will settle down to calm to slightly rough, which is basically the ocean saying, “I’m relaxing now.”
Friday (tomorrow): Partly cloudy skies with a chance of isolated showers around midday and early afternoon. Up on the highest peaks of Troodos, things may get a bit more slushy with snow or sleet; winter refusing to fully pack its bags. A little thin dust may also drift through the atmosphere, but it should politely leave by evening.
Saturday: Clouds take center stage. Expect mostly cloudy conditions with local showers or even thunderstorms, mainly over the western half of the island. Meanwhile, the higher mountains may see snowfall, just to keep things interesting.
Sunday: After all the excitement, the weather decides to calm down again with mostly clear skies.
Temperature outlook: Friday stays about the same, while the weekend brings a gradual cool-down, nudging temperatures back toward normal seasonal levels, the weather’s way of getting back on schedule.
