Today's weather report is feeling indecisive: Sunshine now, drama later

Pleasant and mostly clear conditions today, with only a small chance of cheeky afternoon showers.

Newsroom

A slightly indecisive high-pressure system is loitering over the area, not really committing to anything.

Today will start off mostly clear, the weather equivalent of being on its best behavior. However, the west may see some extra clouds sneaking in. As the day goes on, things will turn partly cloudy, and the mountains and southern areas might squeeze out a few isolated afternoon showers (think: nature’s light sprinkle setting). Winds will blow mainly from the northwest at a polite 3-4 Beaufort; breezy enough to notice, not dramatic enough to ruin your hair. The sea will be slight to a little rough, meaning it’s mildly grumpy but manageable.

Temperatures will climb to about 18°C inland, around 20°C on the coasts, and a brisk 10°C in the higher mountains (bring a jacket if you’re mountain-curious).

Tonight the skies will calm down and become mostly clear with the atmosphere finally making up its mind. Winds will shift northwesterly to northeasterly at a gentle 3 Beaufort. The sea remains slightly moody but not troublesome.

Thursday will be mostly clear and well-behaved, though a few afternoon clouds may pop in just to stay relevant.

Again, Friday will be mostly clear, but afternoon clouds over the mountains and inland areas may produce a few isolated showers, because consistency is overrated.

The plot twist comes on Saturday when conditions turn mostly cloudy, with local rain and possibly even a thunderstorm making a guest appearance. Keep the umbrella on standby.

Temperature outlook:
Thursday stays steady. By Saturday, temperatures will dip slightly, settling back near normal seasonal levels. Nothing shocking, just the weather easing back into routine.

Stay tuned, stay layered, and maybe keep that umbrella where you can find it.
