Officials from Cyprus' Customs Department seized a commercial vehicle and 4,500 liters of fuel on July 26, originating from the occupied areas of the Republic of Cyprus. The driver paid a total of €19,000 in an out-of-court settlement.

According to a statement from the Customs Department, a police patrol stopped the truck and discovered four tanks and two canteens containing the fuel in the loading area. The driver admitted to transporting the fuel from the occupied areas.

Customs officers seized the vehicle and its contents, arresting the driver. He was later released after requesting an out-of-court settlement, paying €18,000 and an additional €1,000 for the return of his vehicle. The fuel was turned over to a licensed recycler for destruction.
