A relatively warm and dry air mass is affecting areas over Cyprus, with inland maximum temperatures on Friday expected to reach 41 degrees Celsius and comminute to climb over the weekend.

Friday morning had a hot start with an overnight yellow warning due to extreme temperatures already in place through the afternoon at 5pm.
Temperature highs are expected to reach 41 degrees inland, 35 in the west, around 37 in all other coastal regions, while it will be 33 high up in the mountains.
Strong winds are also expected along the southern coastline later in the day and in the afternoon reaching 6 points on the Beaufort scale.
Evening skies will be clear with temperature lows dropping to 26 inland and along the coast, while it will be 21 degrees higher up.
Mostly clear weather is expected on Saturday and Sunday as temperatures will rise gradually throughout the weekend and Monday, with levels reaching noticeably above normal averages for this time of the year mainly inland and mountains.
