Good morning Cyprus, it's Wednesday and Mother Nature’s decided to keep things interesting, not wild, not calm, just... mildly moody.
We’re starting the day with a cameo appearance by mid and high clouds, and yes, there’s a decent chance of isolated rain this morning. So if you’re out and about, maybe don’t risk freshly straightened hair.
There’s also dust in the air, again. So if you’ve been blaming your sneezes on pollen, you’ve got a dusty alibi.
Winds are building up some character too. Expect breezes from the northeast to east, starting off light and polite at 3 to 4 Beaufort, but picking up sass later with gusts reaching 5 to 6 in some exposed spots. If you're near the sea, it’ll go from “just a bit choppy” to “grab the Dramamine.”
Temps will climb to a toasty 27°C inland, hover around 25°C by the coast, and stay a cool 20°C up in the mountains, ideal if you’re lucky enough to sneak in a midweek escape.
Tonight, clouds are sticking around, and they might even squeeze out a few more drops. Dust is still loitering in the atmosphere but should make its exit by morning. Winds shift around to the southwest and northwest, still strongish at 4 to 5 Beaufort, and the sea stays slightly rough. Temperatures cool off to 14°C inland, 16°C on the coast, and a nippy 7°C in the higher hills. Time to dig out the hoodie.
Looking ahead, Thursday’s forecast says, “Bring an umbrella, just in case,” especially inland and in the mountains where there’s talk of afternoon storms. Friday and Saturday look moodier, with local rain, thunderstorms, and, plot twist, maybe even some hail. Temperatures will drop by Saturday, especially in the mountains, dipping below seasonal averages.
So yes, time travel may not be real (yet), but between the dust, drizzle, and drama in the skies, Cyprus is giving 1970s Famagusta weather vibes, minus the disco.
Stay dry(ish), Cyprus!
