Cyprus’s biggest literary gathering is about to blow out ten candles. The Nicosia Book Fest 2025 kicks off on October 10–12 at Acropolis Park, promising three days of books, talks, art and a touch of French elegance.
The festival opens on Friday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m. in the park’s “Cave” hall with a tribute to French literature, the spotlight theme of this year’s edition. The real action unfolds over the weekend, Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., with a packed program across multiple stages.
Organizers say the numbers tell the story:
- 70+ presentations and activities
- 200 writers and artists from Cyprus and abroad
- 100+ kiosks offering everything from poetry to graphic novels
- And, of course, thousands of books waiting to be discovered.
France’s starring role comes alongside special tributes to music legends Mikis Theodorakis and Manos Hadjidakis, as well as Cypriot poet Pavlos Liasidis. Festivalgoers can expect readings, concerts, panel talks, and plenty of cultural mash-ups.
“This is more than just a book fair, it’s a celebration of stories and voices,” organizers said, noting that the event marks a decade of steady growth since its launch in 2015.

The festival is organized by the Prometheus Research Institute and hosted by the Municipality of Strovolos, with the Deputy Ministry of Culture as a major sponsor. A long list of embassies, cultural bodies, and companies are pitching in to keep the festival free and buzzing.
Whether you’re chasing the latest novel, looking for children’s activities, or just want an excuse to spend a sunny autumn weekend in the park, organizers say the 10th anniversary edition will have something for everyone.
“Nicosia Book Fest 2025 is about celebrating literature, culture and community,” they said. “We’re ready to write the next chapter together.”
