By the end of 2026, Nicosians will be able to visit the old GSP site for a full range of services, shopping, and recreation in one spot. At the center of the site will be a fully equipped Citizens Service Center (KEP), designed to make routine tasks faster and simpler. Residents will benefit from expanded service stations, upgraded appointment systems, and improved staff flow, reducing long waits and morning congestion.
According to Kathimerini's Dorita Yiannakou, the site will also host seven commercial units for shops, cafés, restaurants, and even a playground. A single management model is planned to keep the space cohesive and functional, while tenants can customize interiors to create a modern, welcoming atmosphere.
Getting to and around the area will be easier too. 18-seater minibuses will run from the GSP site to Nicosia’s historic center, and a new pedestrian street along Evagorou Avenue will provide safe, easy access for walkers.
Beyond services and shopping, the site will feature green spaces and areas for culture and recreation, creating a social hub for all ages. Families, students, and professionals will have a place to relax, meet friends, and enjoy outdoor space without leaving the city.
The project is backed by a €30 million budget, co-financed by the European Union, the Municipality of Nicosia, and the state budget, aiming to combine convenience, leisure, and community life in one accessible location.
