Troodos is calling as skiers in Cyprus gear up to carve the snow capped peaks of Olympus. There are four lifts, Aphrodite, Hermes, Hera, and Dias as well as a baby lift. Police currently advise the public to use vehicles equipped with snow chains or 4x4 cars for their ascent from Platres to Troodos and Karvounas to Troodos. Last week several cars were stranded in Troodos unable to find traction as icy conditions persist. Information on road and piste conditions are available on the website of the Cyprus Ski Federation.
