The Limassol District Court today sentenced a 28-year-old to two years behind bars for his part in the death of a 10-year-old boy on March 14, 2017.
According to information, the 28-year-old, who was 24 at the time, was the driver of a vehicle speeding down Kosti Palamas Street in Limassol on the afternoon of March 14, 2017 where he accidentally struck a 10-year-old boy crossing the street. The boy was seriously injured from the accident and was immediately transported to Limassol General Hospital where he died of his injuries.
The driver was charged with manslaughter, reckless endangerment and speeding and was sentenced to 2 years in prison. His driver's license was also revoked for two and a half years.
