The meeting between President-elect Nicos Christodoulides and DISY President Averof Neophytou was described as "excellent" by President-elect Nicos Christodoulides.
"On many of the issues we have common approaches, on the need for a strong and resilient economy, and on the need to resolve the Cyprus problem," Christodoulides said immediately after the meeting. I was able to explain in detail my own plans for the need to collaborate in order to effectively manage the country. The exchange of views was constructive".
Neofytou said, "I want to publicly reassure you that even though we have personal differences, you can rely on the DISY when you begin managing the country, without worrying that the country will be left without a budget. Our actions will be determined by the country's stability. Take the steps to make Cyprus even better, and you will receive support. And don't worry about the Parliament when you make decisions that are the right ones. Elections are over, there are no more emotions, and we are focusing on the welfare of the nation."
