A British man was expected to be arrested on premeditated murder charges in connection with a road fatality on Saturday morning in Paphos, where a local biker was hit from the back after leaving a local pub.
According to reports, 58-year-old Greek Cypriot Ioannis Polycarpou was at a local pub in Paphos on Friday night where there was an altercation after midnight with another male.
After leaving the pub, Polycarpou was riding his motorcycle on Tombs of The Kings Avenue around 2am when he got involved in a hit-and-run accident.
Police sources said a vehicle slammed into the back of the motorcycle, with the car driving away and the biker being rushed to the Emergency Room at Paphos General Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Hours later a 45-year-old British male was apprehended while a warrant for his arrest was issued on premeditated charges.
