A shocking video circulating online has ignited a political firestorm in Cyprus, accusing President Nikos Christodoulides and his family of secretly bypassing campaign finance rules.
Posted on an unverified X account under the name Emily Thompson, the footage reportedly shows the President’s Chief of Staff, Charalambos Charalambous, collecting “secret cash bags” and alleges that the President’s wife, Philippa Karsera-Christodoulides, funneled large donations from wealthy donors through a charity, allegedly in exchange for preferential treatment.
The post brands the claims as “nepotism and corruption on steroids,” questioning how the country’s leadership could hold the EU Presidency while such practices allegedly occur.
K News has not verified the authenticity of the video.
