Limassol police investigate death of elderly woman after husband admitted striking her with a hammer

An elderly man in Limassol turned himself to police on Monday, saying he killed his wife after striking her in the head with a hammer.

According to local media, an 84-year-old male in Limassol district was suspected of having killed his wife after walking into a police station on Monday morning and admitting the incident.

Local media said law enforcement officers rushed to a residence in Limassol’s Agios Ioannis community where they found an 82-year-old woman unconsciousin the yard.

State forensic examiners were called to the scene where the husband is purported to have caused the death of his wife after using a hammer to striker her in the head.

Police were said to be investigating murder.
