Finally, a bit of a break from the oven!

Cooler temperatures and a mix of sun and storms expected this week as seasonal low pressure shakes things up.

Newsroom

Good news, folks—Mother Nature finally decided to sprinkle some relief on our sun-baked island! After weeks of feeling like we're living on the surface of the sun, a seasonal low-pressure system and some unstable air are bringing us a bit of that sweet, sweet rain. Get ready to embrace those cooler vibes!

Today, expect a mix of sun and clouds with some locally increasing cloud cover as the day goes on. These clouds are cooking up a few surprises—isolated showers and maybe even a thunderstorm or two, especially in the mountains and interior. A little hail might even make an appearance, just to keep things interesting. Winds will mostly be from the southwest to northwest, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, but watch out on the southern coast where they'll crank up to 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be a bit rough at times. Temperatures will reach around 35°C in the interior, 31°C on the west coast, 33°C along the rest of the coast, and a cooler 25°C in the mountains.

As night falls, things will calm down a bit. The skies will mostly clear up, though a few low clouds might linger in the west and north. Winds will shift from westerly to north-westerly, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will mellow out to calm to slightly rough. Expect the temperature to dip to around 22°C inland, 24°C on the coast, and a cool 17°C up in the higher mountains.

Looking ahead to Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, we’re in for more of the same: sun, clouds, and the occasional shower or thunderstorm, especially around midday and in the early afternoon. These will be more likely in the mountains and inland areas.

Temperatures will inch up slightly, rising above the average for this time of year, but hey, we'll take any break from the heat we can get! So, enjoy the cooler spells and maybe break out that rain dance—it seems to be working!
