After briefly considering a life under American sunshine (thanks to yesterday’s April Fool’s gag), Cyprus wakes up today to a more ''European'' forecast—complete with unpredictable weather, moody clouds, and just enough rain to remind us we’re still in the Mediterranean, not Miami.
Expect a mix of partly cloudy skies, scattered showers, and even a few storms, because why not? The winds will start out polite, blowing southwest to west at 3 to 4 Beaufort, but will gradually strengthen to a more assertive 4 to 5 Beaufort. At sea, things will be a little rough—kind of like the transition from April Fool’s pranks back to reality.
Temperature-wise, it's a decent 23°C inland and along the coast, while the mountains get a brisk 13°C—because, of course, they like to keep things dramatic.
Tonight, the weather will clear up mostly (because Mother Nature enjoys suspense), but the west and north might still see some sneaky showers. Temperatures will dip, dropping to a cool 9°C inland and as low as 5°C in the mountains—so if you were planning on an outdoor evening, maybe rethink those flip-flops.
Looking ahead, Thursday will bring more clouds and isolated rain, and yes, possibly another rogue storm. Friday and Saturday will play tricks again, starting off sunny before slipping back into a cloudier, rainier mood.
And just in case you thought Cyprus' brief stint as the 51st state might bring some Californian warmth—think again. Temperatures will remain slightly below average, because in true Mediterranean style, we like to keep things just unpredictable enough to keep you guessing.
