A high school music teacher was detained in Limassol after he failed a drug test during a police stop.

According to media reports, traffic police stopped the teacher last week while driving in Limassol and then administered a drug test on him, with the educator testing positive for drug use.

During a search on the teacher, officers found 10 grams of cannabis in the possession and alerted both the education ministry as well as the anti-drug police unit.

The teacher is reportedly teaching in Paphos this year, while a process to suspend him from his duties is currently in the works according to reports.

It was not immediately clear whether the teacher was stopped for any other traffic violation.
