Right, seasonal low pressure is affecting the region. Brilliant. Just sitting there like an unwanted guest who refuses to check out of a Travelodge.
Today starts off mainly clear. The sun is out, glaring down at us with absolute contempt. Winds start out light and variable at 3 Beaufort, before shifting southwesterly to northwesterly at a light-to-moderate 3 to 4 Beaufort. And if you happen to be hanging out along the southern and southeastern coasts this afternoon, buckle up. Winds are going to temporarily ramp up to a brisk 4 to 5 Beaufort, just to blow your hat off into traffic. The sea will be calm to slightly rough, becoming locally choppy out west and south later on.
Here is how today's glorious temperatures break down across the island:
Inland plains: 37°C. Absolute agony. You step outside and your skin immediately files a formal complaint.
Southeastern and eastern coasts: 33°C. Sticky, humid, and completely unnecessary.
Western coast: 31°C. Supposedly the cool kid on the block, though you're still sweating through your socks.
Remaining coastal areas: Sitting right around 32°C.
Highest mountainous regions: A merciful 26°C, which is the only place you won't feel like a roasted potato.
Tonight, the sun finally pokes off, leaving us with mainly clear skies. Though, just to keep things interesting, patches of increased low cloud will creep along the coast.
Later in the night and into the early morning hours, low clouds, mist, and fog are going to roll into inland and eastern areas like a damp, miserable blanket. Winds start out westerly to northwesterly at 3 to 4 Beaufort before dying down into a gentle, light downslope breeze at around 3 Beaufort. The sea stays calm to slightly rough.
Thursday, Friday, and Saturday: What’s the plan? More sun! The weather stays mainly clear, with a few token clouds popping up over the mountains during the afternoons, probably just to mock you.
Thursday stays stubbornly the same, and then things gradually creep up through Saturday, keeping us well above average climatic levels. Fantastic. Can't wait to melt all weekend. Brilliant.
