It will be Brrrr... again before weekend is out

Showers and strong winds continue in parts of Cyprus, new cold front moves in on Sunday

A low pressure system is affecting Cyprus with showers and strong winds, while a second cold front is expected to affect the island on Sunday with further temperature drops.

A cold front on the way out on Friday is still bringing light showers mainly in the north and out west, but another one is expected to sink temperatures to a new low.

Daytime highs Friday will be in the mid-teens inland and along the coast, while it will be three degrees high up in the mountains where frost conditions remain.

Light rain chances will continue in the evening with showers and thunderstorms also expected in the north and west. Temperature lows will drop to 3 degrees Celsius inland, 5 in the south and east, 8 in all other coastal regions, while it will be two below zero (-2) higher up where frost will form overnight.

Saturday skies will be mostly cloudy with showers and isolated thunderstorms moving into the area, initially in the western half of the island and later across all districts.

Another cooler air mass before the weekend is out
