Princess Rajwa, wife of Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan, gave birth to a baby girl on Saturday, marking the couple's firstborn and the first grandchild of King Abdullah II, according to the Royal Hashemite Court.

In a brief statement, the Royal Hashemite Court announced that the newborn was named Iman. A video on Rajwa’s official Instagram page showed Hussein cradling his daughter to the tune of “You Are My Sunshine.”

The birth comes about a year after Hussein and Rajwa’s lavish wedding, which was attended by notable figures including Britain’s Prince William and Kate, and U.S. First Lady Jill Biden.

Rajwa, 30, is from a prominent Saudi Arabian family related to King Salman. Hussein, also 30, was named crown prince in 2004, after King Abdullah II stripped his half-brother, Prince Hamzah, of the title.

Crown Prince Hussein is the eldest son of King Abdullah II, who has been a steady Western ally during two decades of regional instability.

Under Jordanian law, only males can inherit the Hashemite throne. The Royal Hashemite Court extended its congratulations to the royal family on the joyous occasion.
