Man assaulted by hooded men with bats in Engomi

Assault leaves man injured. Possible connection to prior concert brawl

A troubling incident transpired in the early hours of Monday, September 25th, in Nicosia's Egomi district, where an unidentified group of assailants assaulted a 30-year-old man.

Around 01:30, the victim, a 30-year-old Greek Cypriot, had parked his vehicle in the parking lot of his apartment building. Upon exiting his car, he fell victim to an attack by four hooded individuals, who wielded clubs and inflicted a leg injury with a sharp object.

The injured individual was promptly transported to a private hospital, and he stated that he did not recognize his attackers nor understand the motive behind the assault.

Authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the incident. There is speculation that it may be linked to a confrontation that occurred among concertgoers at Lympion Community Park on the preceding Sunday night, September 24th.
