The Met Service issued a renewed yellow warning for high temperatures expected on Tuesday, when the capital in particular expected to reach 40 degrees Celsius.
The yellow weather warning will be in force from 1pm until 5pm on Tuesday.
The high temperatures are expected to be concentrated inland, while coastal areas will see temperatures of around 32 degrees Celsius and mountainous regions temperatures of around 30 degrees Celsius.
Temperatures are forecast to remain stable on Wednesday, before recording a steady drop on Thursday and Friday, particularly inland and in mountain areas, reaching average temperatures for the period.
