Transport Minister Alexis Vafeadis announced new measures to address malfunctions in traffic light systems equipped with light detection technology. Speaking on the "DIASPORA NEWS" program, Vafeadis stated, "We have issued directives and the Public Works Department has devised a new strategy to tackle this issue." The initiative comes after numerous complaints, particularly regarding the green arrow signals on Larnaca's Panagouli Avenue, prompting the implementation of revised arrangements aimed at facilitating smoother traffic flow.
Further adjustments are coming, starting with the Prodromou - Griva Digeni intersection in Nicosia, followed by four intersections in Limassol, where citizen complaints have been particularly notable. Vafeadis emphasized the need for tailored solutions for each intersection, addressing specific challenges such as timing discrepancies and signal synchronization.
