Cyprus lawmakers are set to take home higher pay this year, with new figures showing an increase in both monthly and annual salaries for members of parliament in 2026.
The 56 members of the House of Representatives will now receive a net annual salary of €68,684, up by €2,518 compared with 2025, according to the latest payroll data. That works out to a monthly net salary of €5,466, an increase of €194 per month.
On a broader scale, MPs’ total gross annual remuneration, including allowances, now stands at €99,612. After deductions and taxes, including €18,984 in income tax, the final net figure is based on a full 12-month term in office.
House Speaker salaries also increased this year.
The president of the House of Representatives will earn a net annual salary of €95,432, up €1,658 compared with last year. On a monthly basis, the net pay now stands at €7,461, an increase of €128.
The gross annual remuneration for the post, including allowances, reaches €146,174. After deductions of €17,355 and income tax of €33,387, the final calculation is also based on a full year in office.
While the increases are relatively modest in monthly terms, the adjustments come at a sensitive time politically, as public attention remains fixed on issues of cost of living, transparency in governance, and trust in political institutions.
