Nearly 8,800 cancer patients and their families received support from PASYKAF in 2025, with the organization delivering more than 52,000 services and consultations across Cyprus during the year.

The figures were presented at PASYKAF's 38th Annual General Electoral Assembly, where officials reviewed the association's activities and outlined efforts to strengthen support for people living with and beyond cancer.

A key focus during 2025 was the expansion of services through the introduction of the "SynexiZO" and "FrontiZO" programmes, which offer counselling and practical assistance to individuals navigating the challenges associated with cancer.

The association also continued to promote patient participation in healthcare discussions. Its second conference for people with cancer experience, held under the theme "Stronger Together," focused on quality of life issues and the role patients can play in shaping health policy.

At the European level, PASYKAF partnered with the European Cancer Organisation to present the European Cancer Pulse Cyprus Country Report in Nicosia. The organization also participated in the "Larnaca Call" initiative, which seeks greater political commitment to cancer prevention, treatment and care across Europe.

Speaking at the assembly, Board Chair Dr. Anna Achilleoudi thanked staff, volunteers, scientific partners, sponsors and public institutions for their continued support. She said PASYKAF's 40-year presence reflects the value of cooperation and solidarity in supporting people affected by cancer.

The event also featured an address by Vice President Dr. Stala Kioupi, while Chief Executive Officer and Director of Patient Support Services Antonis Tryfonos examined PASYKAF's contribution to the development of patient-centred cancer policies and the implementation of European cancer initiatives.

Health Minister Neophytos Charalambides praised the association's contribution to palliative care, psychosocial support, prevention and patient advocacy. He also referred to ongoing reforms in Cyprus' healthcare system, including plans for a National Cancer Institute, the development of palliative care services and the expansion of population-based cancer screening programmes.
