The municipality of Polis Chrysochous is set to undergo a transformative development phase with planned projects totaling €141 million over the coming years, as announced by Mayor Yiotos Papachristofis.

Speaking to the Cyprus News Agency, Papachristofis outlined several key initiatives aimed at revitalizing the region. These include the expansion of Latsi Harbour, a €60 million project hailed as a cornerstone of local tourism. Additionally, he highlighted investments in sewerage infrastructure, a third phase development for Latsi, the revitalization of Polis and Prodromi cores, and the establishment of an industrial zone, among other smaller-scale projects.

"In the near future, we will also complete the upgrade of the old Port Authority Warehouses in Latsi, transforming them into a Sea and Culture Hub," Papachristofis added, underscoring plans to enhance archaeological sites and renovate municipal courtyards and the former police station.

These initiatives, along with the completion of the Pafos-Polis road, are expected to attract investor interest, aiming to bolster tourism in the area. Regarding the Pafos-Polis road, Mayor Papachristofis emphasized ongoing efforts to pressure the state and relevant authorities to avoid further delays.

"Simultaneously, we will monitor timelines for the second phase of the Pafos-Polis road and the connection to Mesa Yitonia," he noted.

Papachristofis concluded by affirming commitments to implement ongoing and planned projects, alongside collaborators, and highlighted proposals for integrating the municipality's 13 districts. The total expenditure for completed, ongoing, and planned projects exclusively within the Municipality of Polis Chrysochous since 2017 now stands at €165 million.
