The world gears up for Olympic-level excitement as the grand event of global athletics unfolds in Paris, France, from July 26 to August 11.
Cyprus will be represented by 15 athletes at the games, with track and field athletes Milan Trajkovic and Elena Koulitsenko serving as flag bearers during the opening ceremony.
For Trajkovic, this marks his second time carrying Cyprus's flag at the opening ceremony, having previously done so in the 2021 games alongside Andri Eleftheriou.
The Cypriot athletes will compete across eight sports:
Sailing: Konstantinos Kontides, Marilena Makri, Natasa Lappa, Dennis Tarantini
Track and Field: Milan Trajkovic (110m hurdles), Olivia (100m), Elena Koulitsenko (high jump)
Swimming: Kalia and Nicolas Antoniou (100m freestyle)
Gymnastics: Marios Georgiou
Cycling: Andri Christoforou
Shooting/Skeet: Constantia Nicolaou
Rhythmic Gymnastics: Vera Tugolukova
Fencing: Alexandros Tofalidis
Judo: Sofia Asvesta
