Cyprus police dogs and handlers to assist French authorities for Paris Olympics security

Two detection dogs of the Cyprus Police together with their trainers will travel to Paris beginning of July to contribute to the counter-terrorism security measures taken by the French authorities during the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris.

Speaking to CNA, Police spokesman Christos Andreou, said that the Police accepted a request from the French authorities for assistance in the smooth running of the Olympic Games, and thus at the beginning of July two sniffer dogs will go together with their trainers to Paris.

He added that the Cypriot team consists of two members of the Emergency Response Unit's dog detection branch who will be accompanied by a Belgian malinois named Iris and a labrador named Kira.
