Scattered showers and storms across Cyprus

Overnight temperatures drop to 20°C inland

Newsroom

A low-pressure system and unstable air mass are affecting the region, bringing varying weather conditions.

For today, expect increased cloud cover in the morning. By the afternoon, these clouds may lead to isolated showers or even thunderstorms, particularly in the highlands, inland areas, and northern regions.

Winds will start out from the southeast, shifting to southwesterly and northwesterly directions at speeds of 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough. Temperatures will reach about 37°C inland, 31°C on the western and southwestern coasts, 33°C along other coastal areas, and 27°C in the mountains.

Tonight, skies will generally clear, though fog and low clouds are likely to form in the early morning, especially in northern and eastern areas. Winds will shift to northwesterly and northeasterly, easing to 2 to 3 Beaufort. The sea will be mostly calm to slightly choppy. Overnight temperatures will drop to around 20°C inland, 22°C on the coasts, and 17°C in the higher mountains.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, afternoon clouds could again lead to isolated showers or thunderstorms in the highlands, interior, and northern areas. Temperatures will gradually fall to align with seasonal averages.

By Thursday, the weather is expected to clear, with a slight rise in temperatures.
