A Chinese man, a permanent resident of Cyprus who had visited China in recent days, was admitted into Nicosia General hospital on Friday after suspicions were raised that he carried the coronavirus.

According to a Health Ministry announcement, the man showed symptoms similar to coronavirus, and was admitted for treatment in isolation in the Nicosia General.
The Ministry stressed that it has not confirmed whether the man is a coronavirus carrier, though tests conducted on the man ruled out the possibility of Type A flu virus.
“Protocols established by the Health Services of the Ministry of Health and other relevant services have been activated,” the announcement said.
