Temperature reaches 36 degrees

Mostly clear days followed by cloudy afternoons

Newsroom

Today's weather is set to bring a rise in temperatures, with the mercury climbing to 36 degrees Celsius in the interior regions. According to the latest forecast from the Weather Service, expect mostly clear skies throughout the day, with occasional intervals of locally increased clouds. It's worth noting that the evening hours will remain mostly clear. However, as the dawn approaches, there's a possibility of locally increased low clouds and even sparse fog forming.

Looking ahead, Friday and the weekend are anticipated to follow suit with mostly clear conditions. Though, as the afternoons progress, there's a likelihood of increased cloud cover, particularly over the mountainous areas.

Throughout today, the skies will predominantly be clear, but don't be surprised by intermittent patches of heightened cloudiness. While light rain isn't expected, there might be a chance of precipitation, primarily over the mountains. The winds will initially be variable, blowing at 3 Beaufort, but gradually shifting to a southwest and northwest direction, reaching a weak to moderate strength of 3 to 4 Beaufort. Along the south coast, winds could temporarily become strong, registering at 5 Beaufort. The sea conditions are expected to be a bit turbulent.

Temperature-wise, apart from the 36-degree high in the interior, the west coast will see temperatures around 30 degrees, the other coast at approximately 32 degrees, and the highest mountains at 28 degrees.

As evening sets in, the weather will maintain its mostly clear disposition. However, in the early morning hours, local increases in low clouds and sparse fog might manifest. Wind directions will change to northwest and northeast, with a southeastern breeze along the north coast. Wind strength will remain mild, hovering at 3 Beaufort. Sea conditions will shift from calm to slightly agitated. Thermometer readings are projected to drop to around 18 degrees indoors, near 20 degrees along the coast, and as low as 17 degrees in the highest mountains.

Looking forward to Friday and the upcoming weekend, expect the trend of mostly clear skies to continue. However, as the afternoon hours progress, anticipate heightened cloud cover, primarily affecting mountainous regions.

Temperatures during this period are expected to remain within proximity of average climate values.
