In a recent post shared via the official Facebook accounts of President Donald J. Trump and The White House, the U.S. president issued a stark message to the militant group Hamas. The post included a strong warning, urging Hamas to release all hostages, return the bodies of those they had murdered, and immediately cease any further violence. Trump’s language was forceful and unyielding, suggesting dire consequences if Hamas did not comply with these demands.
Trump's statement, titled "'Shalom Hamas' means Hello and Goodbye - You can choose," laid down an ultimatum for Hamas: release all hostages and return the bodies of those killed, or face severe repercussions. The post denounced the group’s actions, calling them "sick and twisted" for holding onto the bodies of the deceased. His language was uncompromising, with a clear assertion that Israel would be receiving all the necessary support to "finish the job" against Hamas. In the post, Trump made it clear that no Hamas member would be safe if they failed to comply with his demands.
In addition to the call for Hamas to release hostages, Trump’s message extended to the leadership in Gaza, urging them to leave the area while they still had the chance. His warning to the leadership was blunt. "Now is the time to leave Gaza, while you still have a chance." This was framed as a final opportunity for them to avoid further conflict, with the dire implication that failure to act would result in "hell to pay."
The president also directed part of his message to the citizens of Gaza, painting a picture of a "beautiful future" that could await them, but only if they rejected the hostage-taking tactics of Hamas. Trump warned that the future of Gaza was in jeopardy if hostages were not released, adding, "If you do, you are DEAD!"
The closing lines of Trump’s post read as a definitive threat. “This is your last warning!” In this phrase, Trump reiterated that there would be no more negotiations or chances for those who were holding hostages. The message urgeed the individuals responsible for the ongoing crisis to make a "SMART decision" and release the hostages to avoid further bloodshed.
