Turkish frigate calls on Nautical Geo to change course just south of Paphos

Vessel on its way back to Larnaca Port

The Nautical Geo research vessel which conducts surveys around the waters of Cyprus was intercepted by a Turkish frigate on Saturday afternoon (15/1) and called upon to immediately change course, according to a report from Omega news.

Although the exact distance from Cyprus was not mentioned, the report stated that it was well within Cyprus' exclusive economic zone.  The vessel immediately changed course and was reported to be on its way back to Larnaca port.

No other information has been reported.
