Newsroom
Good morning, beautiful people! Yes, it's Wednesday, which means we've successfully survived half the week, and nature is celebrating... by possibly throwing a temper tantrum.
A "weak" low-pressure system is currently affecting the area. "Weak" is what it calls itself before it unleashes a surprise shower, so don't be fooled. Think of it as a shy storm cloud that needs a few hours before it decides to truly commit to the drama.
Today:
The forecast has a classic case of commitment issues: partly cloudy and at times mostly cloudy. The clouds are in a constant debate about whether to show up or not.
We're expecting local rain and isolated thunderstorms. This party starts in the west and north this morning, like the popular kids arriving first, and will gradually spread to the rest of the island.
The plot twist: Keep an eye out for a sprinkling of frozen water! Hail may fall in thunderstorms.
For those in mountainous and inland areas, hold onto your hats! The weather phenomena may be intense, especially after noon. Apparently, the mountains get the VIP (Very Intense Precipitation) treatment.
Winds start off light and variable (around 3 Beaufort), just chilling. They’ll eventually decide on a direction, becoming mainly southwest to northwest, light to moderate (3–4 Beaufort).
The sea is giving us a resounding shrug: calm to slightly rough.
Don't get too comfy with the sweater yet! Temperatures will max out around 25°C inland and along the coasts (perfect for that "rain, but still warm" humidity), dropping to a cool 16°C in the higher mountains.
Tonight: The Coastal Cuddle
Tonight, the cloud cover gets serious (mostly cloudy) and decides to follow the smell of the sea salt. Expect local rain and possible isolated thunderstorms, mainly in coastal areas. The wind will switch its playlist to northwest to northeast, locally variable, light (around 3 Beaufort), and the sea will continue its calm to slightly rough ambivalence.
The weekend forecast:
Thursday & Friday: It’s a sequel no one asked for. Mostly cloudy at times, with local rain and isolated thunderstorms expected. Yes, hail may occur again. The weather is clearly playing its greatest hits. Once again, things may be intense, especially after noon.
Saturday: A brief respite! We’re expecting intermittent locally increased cloudiness. It's the cloud's final gasp, which may produce isolated showers after noon, mainly in mountainous areas.
Time to find your socks
Here's the kicker: From now until Saturday, temperatures will gradually drop noticeably, falling below the seasonal average for this time of year. Translation: Enjoy the 25°C while it lasts, because winter is sending a strongly worded letter.
Stay dry, stay fabulous, and remember: Don't take meteorological advice from a cloud with "weak" written on its file.
