Who says world-class culture has to stay in the city? The Nicosia International Festival is bringing its magic to Protaras’ seaside promenade starting September 14, giving sun-and-sea lovers a side of cinema with their sea breeze.
The move comes from a fresh partnership between the municipalities of Nicosia and Paralimni-Deryneia, signed this past July, aimed at mixing arts, culture, and a bit of cross-town collaboration. The goal? To show that Cyprus isn’t just beaches, it’s also a hotspot for creativity and artistic expression.
“This is just the beginning,” said Giorgos Nicolettos, Mayor of Paralimni-Deryneia. “Expect artist exchanges, joint events, and more projects that will connect our municipalities and maybe give locals and tourists a few Instagram-worthy moments.”
So grab your sunglasses, stroll the promenade, and enjoy international art under the open sky. Cyprus’ culture is on the move, and it’s bringing the coast along for the ride.
