Wednesday wind-down: Inland highs settle to a breathing-room 38°C

Low cloud patches return tonight as a stable, comfortable stretch takes over through Saturday.

Newsroom

The seasonal low-pressure system is finally playing nice. After weeks of staring down 40°C peaks and micro-window warnings, today marks a genuine return to normal summer weather.

Skies will stay mostly clear across the island, though you will see a few localized patches of light cloud drift through from time to time; just enough to break up the glare.

Here is where the thermometer lands as the midweek cool-down settles in:

Inland plains: Drops to a very civilized 38°C, a far cry from last week's grill marks.

West coast: Earning top honors for cool coastal air at 30°C.

Remaining coastlines: Hovering comfortably around 33°C.

Higher Troodos range: A delightfully crisp 28°C (perfect mountain weather).

Winds will blow from the southwest to west at a light-to-moderate 3 to 4 Beaufort. However, if you are out on the southern coast, expect things to get temporarily lively as winds pick up to a strong Force 5. The sea stays friendly throughout the day, holding at a slight chop.

Clear skies continue into the evening hours, with occasional periods of localized low cloud drifting back in overnight. Winds shift westerly to northwesterly, turning northeasterly in western areas, easing back to a light 3 Beaufort flow. Marine conditions settle into a peaceful calm to slight state.

Extended outlook
Thursday, Friday & Saturday: The weather pattern locks into an easygoing groove with mostly clear skies and occasional passing clouds. No sudden spikes or thermal plot twists on the horizon. Temperatures will remain completely unchanged, holding right near normal seasonal averages straight through the weekend!
