In the picturesque Famagusta district, the Crime Investigation Department sprung into action, apprehending a 21-year-old suspect linked to a perplexing case involving theft, illegal possession of firearms, and explosives.

The saga unfolded when a distressed Paralimni resident reported the incident on November 19. In broad daylight, around 3 pm, shadowy figures pilfered his car from an orchard in Famagusta, wherein rested his prized shotgun and a bag boasting five boxes of hunting cartridges.

Although the stolen vehicle was swiftly recovered in a Paralimni location shortly after, the coveted firearm and cartridges remained elusive.

Enterprising police work and relentless investigations eventually pointed the finger at a 21-year-old individual. Following a thorough search of his apartment, the missing shotgun and cartridges belonging to the complainant were unearthed.
