After a brief taste of spring, Mother Nature has decided she’s not done with the cold just yet. Today starts off nice and calm—mostly clear skies with just a few clouds hanging around, probably deciding whether they want to stay. Temperatures will reach a pleasant 19°C inland and along the coast, while the mountains will linger at a cool 11°C. Winds will start off light but pick up later from the southwest to northwest at 3-4 Beaufort. The sea? Still doing its thing—calm to slightly rough.
But don’t get too comfortable.
Tonight, clouds will roll in, bringing local showers and possibly a few isolated thunderstorms, mainly in the western half of the island. Troodos might even see some snow or sleet, just to remind us that winter isn’t over. Temperatures will drop to 5°C inland, around 8°C on the coast, and a frosty 3°C in the higher mountains, where frost is expected.
Then, midweek, the real fun begins.
By Wednesday afternoon, a cold air mass sweeps in, along with stronger northerly winds. Expect more clouds, scattered showers, and even some thunderstorms. Snowfall in the mountains? Almost guaranteed. And by Thursday, temperatures will take a nosedive, dipping below average for this time of year.
So, if you thought we were cruising toward spring, think again. Time to dig out the winter coats (again), because winter isn’t done messing with us just yet. Stay warm and maybe keep an umbrella handy—just in case.
