Drivers on the Limassol-Nicosia highway are on the Stop-And-Go this week due to maintenance work that has been scheduled to take place between 8am and 4:30pm for the next ten days.
According to Kathimerini Cyprus, frustrated drivers have been sharing photos of huge bottlenecks on the Limassol-Nicosia highway caused by maintenance work. The roadwork began October 29 and is expected to last through November 9.

Crews are shutting down one of two lanes in each direction of the highway at any given time, with each closure stretching 200 metres in order for maintenance crews to repair the asphalt.
Public Works officials have issued a statement apologising for the “inevitable inconvenience” to drivers, as vehicles are forced to merge in one lane to get through the roadwork spot, essentially going bumper-to-bumper for a long distance in a 100-km speed zone.
