A low pressure system is affecting the area over Cyprus with increasing clouds and chances of rain on Friday and late weekend but only in some parts of the island.
Mostly clear skies are expected on Friday while increasing clouds around noon and in the afternoon will raise chances of local showers in the southern half of the island, according to weather officials.
Morning winds are expected to pick up in the east and some parts in the north, while temperature highs will reach 35 degrees Celsius inland, around 33 along the coast, and 29 high up in the mountains.
Evening weather will remain mostly clear with temperature lows dropping to 22 degrees in the interior and along the southwest coast, around 23 in all other coastal regions, while it will be 16 degrees higher up
Saturday skies will be mostly clear while Sunday and Monday weather will start mostly clear but increasing afternoon clouds on and off will bring chances of showers and possibly thunderstorms in the mountains.
Low cloud formations over local areas and possibly thin fog are also expected Monday overnight along the coast.
Temperature levels out on the west coast and high up in the mountains will drop slightly by Monday, but levels will remain around normal averages for this time of the year.
