Cyprus braces for hot days ahead

Clear skies and rising temperatures this week

Get ready for a sunny day today with mostly clear skies across the region. Winds will be coming from the southwest to northwest, staying light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort. By the afternoon, those on the leeward side might see winds pick up to 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to slightly rough, with a bit more choppiness expected in the afternoon. Inland temperatures will soar to 39 degrees Celsius, while the west coast will be cooler at 32 degrees, and other coastal areas will hover around 34 degrees. In the higher mountains, it will be 31 degrees.

Tonight will stay mostly clear, though you might notice some low clouds now and then. Early in the morning, keep an eye out for thin fog or mist in some areas. Winds will shift to mainly northwest to northeast and will be light at around 3 Beaufort. The sea will remain slightly rough. Expect temperatures to drop to around 24 degrees inland and along the coast, and 23 degrees in the higher mountains.

As we look ahead to Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, the forecast remains sunny and clear. Temperatures will hold steady, staying above the average for this time of year.
