Ministry calls for road safety during busy holiday periods

Newsroom

The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Works has reported a gradual decline in road violations at locations equipped with light marking systems during the second quarter of 2024, according to a recent statement. Simultaneously, there has been an increase in the deployment of these light marking systems across the country.

Statistics highlighted in the statement indicate a rise in violations particularly during Easter holidays and weekends. Common infractions include speeding, disregarding traffic signals, and breaches of the Highway Code.

The ministry has urged all citizens to exercise caution on the roads and to adhere strictly to traffic regulations.

This report underscores ongoing efforts by authorities to enhance road safety through technological interventions and public awareness campaigns.
