Deadline to report solar water heater damage extended to May 14, 2025

Ministry of Interior responds to citizen requests, offering more time for homeowners to report frost-related damage and seek repairs.

Newsroom

The Ministry of Interior has announced an extension for citizens to report damage to solar water heaters caused by recent freezing temperatures. Following multiple requests from individuals and organized groups, the reporting period has now been extended to Wednesday, May 14, 2025.

The damage, which has affected many homeowners across the region, was attributed to unusually low temperatures that impacted solar water heaters. The Ministry's decision to extend the deadline gives affected owners additional time to file their reports and seek repairs.

How to Report Damage

Homeowners seeking compensation or repair assistance must fill out a designated form, which can be submitted to the relevant District Administration office. The form requires essential details, including the homeowner’s name, identification number, address, and contact information.

Additionally, affected owners must include:
- Photographs of the damaged solar water heater, along with images showing the repairs.
- A description of the work carried out by the plumber.
- Invoices for the repairs, as well as the completed FIMAS authorization form.
- A copy of the owner’s IBAN (International Bank Account Number).
- A signed declaration from the owner confirming the accuracy of the provided information and stating that they do not have insurance covering the damage.

This extension aims to ensure that as many homeowners as possible can report damages and receive the necessary support to repair their solar water heaters before the deadline passes.

For more information on the reporting process or to submit your form, homeowners are encouraged to visit the nearest District Administration office.
